About The Energy Performance Certificate

The Energy Performance Certificate is part of the Home Information Pack. It shows the official energy rating of a property. Only a fully qualified and accredited Domestic Energy Assessor can produce the Certificate.

RadiatorOn instruction, I will visit the property and collect all the data required to produce the Certificate such as property age, construction, floor area and details of insulation, windows, heating, hot water and lighting. Then, I will produce the Energy Performance Certificate, which will provide two ratings for the property. One will show the property’s energy efficiency and the other will show its environmental impact. Each of the two ratings is shown on a scale of A to G, where A is the most efficient and G is the least efficient.

The Energy Performance Certificate will also contain recommendations on ways to improve the energy efficiency of the property. If these are implemented, this can mean reduced energy consumption, lower energy bills and a reduction in carbon emissions.
